Lady Gaga gives dad gift of life

Since the first demonstration of her startling musical gifts on 2008’s, ‘The Fame,’ Lady Gaga has sold almost 10-million digital singles, been featured on numerous soundtracks and achieved simultaneous Number-1 singles in five different countries. But the 23-year old Yonkers, NY, native perhaps is most proud of how she was able to use her early fame, taking to her Twitter account over the weekend to reveal that her dad, Joseph, had undergone open-heart surgery. In an interview with with 104.7 KISS FM in Phoenix, Arizona who followed up to ask her about her dad, GaGa says she covered the cost of the operation with the advance for her new album.
“It was pretty necessary… It was the biggest nightmare of my life,” she said. “My father is my whole world; I’m such a daddy’s girl.
“I said, ‘I haven’t bought anything yet with any of the money that I’ve made from my new album… so let me buy you a new heart, dad.’ And he said, ‘OK, fine.’
“I took care of my mom and my sister and I took care of me, and he’s gonna be out in a couple of days… Now I feel like I can get back to work.“For a while I was feeling like I just wanted to give up. This really kinda put things in perspective…
“When this happened I really just kinda said, ‘I don’t wanna do anything for the next two weeks; I just wanna be with my dad and be a good daughter.’”
Oh by the way for her fans, Lady Gaga will be on Gossip Girl, airing November 16, after Blair, in desperate attempts to flex her queen bee muscle, gets her to perform at NYU.
