Jodie Sweetin unveils addictions in scary new book

In a tale of addiction and adversity that could make a good show on it’s own, former ‘Full House’ star Jodie Sweetin is building her life – yet again.
Still best known to most for her eight-year reign as ‘Stephanie Tanner’ in ABC’s saccharin-laden sit-com, Jodie found the lure of narcotics too easy to love; She lost years to narcotics, then tried to get clean;
“It had been a year since I went on Good Morning America and told the world that I was a recovered drug addict. And I was…or was trying to be, anyway.” she admits in the Huff Post review. “But I knew in the back of my mind it wasn’t over.”
The GMA spot brought her more TV face-time – and all the money they gave her went straight up her nose, “Drugs and alcohol don’t come cheap,” she explains. “Especially when you’re also buying for friends.”
All this new income bought a home in LA…and a lot more white powder, “It started just a few weeks after my GMA spot,” she admits. “I got a call from a friend who was also a dealer. I invited her over, we hung out and played cards…one thing led to another and just like that, I was back.”
Crack-heads tend to hang out together and Jodie was soon immersed in that scene, “I was up for any party; One weekend, everyone headed to Vegas, so I got $10,000 in cash to bankroll the drugs for everyone…and a little shopping for me.”
And it sounds like Vegas was one hell of a night, “I spent $2,000 on makeup and a dress, then we hit various clubs and partied ’til dawn,” Jodie recalls. But dawn brought bad news, “The next morning I noticed the remaining $8,000 was gone. Maybe I lost it, or perhaps it was stolen…I just didn’t care.”
As it does with most addicts, the evil white powder soon ruled Jodie’s life, “I often blew off my family and sober friends and hung out with whoever did drugs.” she admits. “Soon, I was back to partying like I was at my worst — spending $700+ a week on meth, coke and booze.
But when daughter, Zoie Laurelmae Herpin, was born on April 12 of last year, Jodie finally saw that she had to get clean. In one year she’s gone from meth-head to mom. Now divorced from her husband and a doting new mommy, Jodie swears that her life is finally back on the rails.
But will it last?…We shall see.
