Dick Clark reportedly in failing health

A fixture of this glorious nation’s New Year celebrations for longer than most can recall, Dick Clark, we are told, may have mere months left to live.

Since his first TV job as a weather reporter in the grainy, black-and-white days of 1945, the modest New Yorker, who’ll turn 80 next month, has won 5 Primetime Emmy’s and an indelible place in this country’s heart. But life for this legend is now sadly low-key.

Confined to a wheelchair after two heart attacks the man they call, ‘America’s oldest teenager’ has friends quite concerned, “It’s so sad,” one friend told the Enquirer. “In the last few months, he’s become so thin, I honestly don’t know if he’ll see next Summer. The poor soul is just wasting away.”

The once vibrant host who is treasured by millions and was rightly inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ now has mild paralysis and Type-2 diabetes, rarely speaks and is almost wholly dependent on Kari, his doting wife of more than 32-years.

“The poor guy sits in a chair all day, with a sad, faraway look in his eyes,” the friend tells us. “The worst part is his mind is sharp, but his body’s weakening quite rapidly.”

And the great man himself now seems aware of his state, “I think Dick has less than a year to live, maybe only a few months.”another close friend told reporters. “He recently told me, ‘It’s been a great run, but I’m at the end.’”
