Last nights ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and prediction on winner

Dancing with the Stars had a surprise contestant eliminated last night.   While the bottom two were a surprise this week, past seasons have shown good dancers often get eliminated in favor of popular stars until near the end. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Natalie Coughlin and her professional partner Alex Mazo who tallied 22 of a possible 30 points from the show’s judges, their second-worst score in the competition, wound up in the bottom two with singer Aaron Carter and partner Karina Smirnoff – who scored 24 points with their Argentine tango. Louie Vito or Michael Irvin probably deserved to be at the bottom based on performance, but afterall DWTS is a popularity contest too. In the end, lovely Natalie was eliminated Tuesday, the sixth couple sent packing from ABC’s hit dancing competition.

Speaking of popularity contests, I think Mya is the best dancer left on the show right now but I think Donny Osmond is gonna be the winner in the end. I have no complaints with that as unlike his sister Marie, Donny is the complete package of personality, showmanship and a very good dancer in his own right. I pick Joanna Krupa as my dark horse but based on skill right now I will be cheering for Mya.

Entertainment wise last nights show featured a performance by Norah Jones and a tribute to Michael Jackson, who had a tremendous influence on dance culture during his career. Kelly Osbourne who sprained her foot during a paso doble Monday night and was whisked away to the hospital after the show, is likely to return next week.
