Robert Redford reveals cast for new Lincoln pic

In a welcome, perhaps even overdue exploration of one of the foremost events of this nation’s rich past, Robert Redford is now gathering a lustrous team for his upcoming movie on the assassinaiton of President Lincoln.
Named, ‘The Conspirator,’ the forthcoming period drama – which Rob will direct – will explore the unmeasured fallout from the fateful day of April 14th, 1865.
Those portraying this sad date’s key players now include Tom Wilkinson [best known for 'Batman Begins',] Evan Rachel Wood ['The Wrestler',] and ‘The Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel, who will join Kevin Kline, James McAvoy and Robin Wright when shooting commences in Savannah, Georgia on Monday.
Wright will portray Mary Suratt, the only woman to face charges for the hideous crime. McAvoy will be Frederick Aiken, a civil-war hero who believes Surratt is innocent and tries to defend her, while Academy Award-nominee, Tom Wilkinson will be Senator Reverdy Johnson, who was Aiken’s chief mentor and supports Suratt’s case, aided by her daughter, Anna, who is played by Ms. Wood.
Kevin Kline then completes the starlit ensemble as Edwin Stanton, Lincoln’s fiery Secretary of War.
Variety reports that the script has been written by James Solomon, best known for his skills in shaping the stories for Fox’s Golden-Globe winner, ‘The Practice.’
