Boyzone singer Stephen Gately allegedly choked on his vomit

Stephen Gately, the 33-year-old former singer from the Irish pop band ‘Boyzone’, passed away while vacationing with his partner in Spain.
Gately and his husband, Andrew Cowles, had been vacationing together when the death occurred. According to authorities, no cause of death has been released, but police said the singer had been partying with friends a few hours before he was found dead in his apartment.
The other ‘Boyzone’ members released this official statement on their website:
“We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen’s family. We love you and will miss you forever, ‘Steo’”
Allegedly, the family has been told the most likely scenario is Stephen had a bit too much to drink, vomited in his sleep and choked. It was a terrible accident.”
