Christoph Waltz replaces Nicholas Cage in ‘Green Hornet’
Since making his hypnotic debut in his first major movie to be filmed outside Europe, Christoph Waltz is being widely suggested as Oscar material, and according to DHD he has now proved he deserves such regard by landing one of the most coveted roles in any current production; The villainous ‘Chudnofsky,’ in Michel Gondry’s ‘Green Hornet.’
Originally offered to Nicholas Cage, the role’s rightful recasting should implant the 52-year old Vienna-born actor in the Academy’s minds as surely as his pipe-puffing role as Colonel Hans Landa in Quentin Tarrantino’s ‘Inglorious Basterds’ has imprinted his name on a whole world of new fans.
Based in London, Waltz will join Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz on the set of Sony’s, ‘Hornet,’ which is now in production and scheduled for a premiere on December 17th.
