Salma Hayek throws tantrum at LA Chateau snub

In further proof that some stars are merely overgrown children, reports are emerging that Salma Hayek arrived unannounced at the Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard last night demanding attention, and threw a tantrum that would embarrass a 2-year when she did not get her way.

Arriving without warning, a booking or even the simple insurance of calling ahead, the ’30 Rock’ actress was seemingly staggered to learn that, by some unforeseen chance one of the most popular restaurants in the whole town was currently full and she could not be seated immediately, as she thought she deserved.

Result? Ms. Hayek threw a full-volume hissy!

The Mexico-born actress — who turned 43 yesterday — went into full meltdown and started screaming at the hostess in what, according to Radar was very colorful Spanish. With admirable reserve, the berated innkeeper explained that their guests were all seated and could not be disturbed, but Salma could have the first table as soon as one became free.

Despite valiant efforts by her two female companions to calm her, this was far from enough for the dining room diva. Salma switched into English and went on berating the Maître d’ until one of their now-deafened guests abandoned their table and a space opened up.

And this is the way good people are treated by someone of such vast self-absorption they then expect you to treat them like a star…
