Former First Daughter Jenna Bush Scores TV Correspondent on Today Show
Former first daughter and White House teenage terror, Jenna Bush Hager, was hired as a correspondent for the Today Show, where she will contribute monthly pieces on education and literacy. Hager, 27-years-old, works as a school teacher in Baltimore, where she resides with her husband Henry.
After two prior appearances on the Today Show, Jim Bell, executive producer for the show, was impressed with Hager’s natural presence before the cameras. She appeared with her mother to promote their picture book and Hager appeared alone on a different occasion to promote her book about an HIV-infected single mother, “Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope.”
Bell denies hiring the former first daughter as a backdoor way to score a coveted interview with her father, former President Bush, who has largely stayed behind the scenes since leaving public office. “…When she came here for a handful of appearances, she knocked it out of the park,” said Bell.
Hager doesn’t plan to report on politics nor about her experiences in the White House. She says stories about being the daughter of the president would not be “…that interesting,” because she is “…pretty normal.”
Hager will debut with her first report next month on the subject of education.

I will NEVER watch the TODAY show again. The Bush’s are the reason this entire country is in a financial disaster right now and you expect people to LOOK at one of them daily. It was too much looking at her father as he grinned while selling the coutry down the river.
I am so pleased that the TODAY show will have Jenna as a reporter, perhaps there is hope for NBC.
Great! Jenna showed to have grownup to the occasion by her own deeds and abilities. Congratulations to both the show and Jenna.
I’m with you on this one. Nothing But Silly has continued to deterioate and this is the worst step yet. Meredith was the only bright spot.
This is is a real boost for ABC and CBS. Thanks for having better scrupples.
why do people make an issue on things that doesn’t have any bearing on the person and always something that has bothered me about politics, always bringing up the past when the past is done, its done you cannot change it. I am glad jenna is going to be on the today show, she is not the reason the country is in a mess its the changes that have occured in the now……not in the past….
You don’t read much do you. It said she would only be on about once a month. Again, someone spouting off their mouth before thinking. I bet you voted for Obama. Well I hope you are happy.
What! Obama is doing a good job of screwing up our country right now…
Ignore the past and you are doomed to repeat the mistakes in the future. Granted, Jenna was not directly responsible for the horrible way her father handled the economy. Still, i dont want to watch anything that gives her a platform to discuss issues. Keep in mind, there are hundreds, if not thousands of qualified people who are better able to present a great story. Unfortunately, NBC decided that the most important credential is connections. I failed to see where her background uniquely prepared her for a national outlet. The story referred to her as the ‘White House terror”. I am in the group of people who will also turn the channel. Unless ABC decides to the Obama children should host a segment as well. Actually, that would be more entertaining that watching a Bush do anything. I have yet to see them do anything well.
How happy I am for Jenna. I watched her and was impressed with her obvious speaking skills. It is a sad state of affairs that so many are judging her on their political views. If the people in this country don’t start getting real about the real values this country was founded on where are we going to end up! She is just a young woman who is being given a chance to contribute. Get over it! you mean spirited liberals!
I would fire the human resource person that is going to push bush’s daughter on the
“Today’s show. Also the supervisior that gave the authorization.
It is going to take 30 years to wash out Bush’s legacy. And the today show is giving his daughter a top notch gig on the show, because of her experience. Why did they not put Sarah
Palin on that show. Look at all the experience Sarah Palin has?
. G. Bush has to get out of the public’s eye. Wait until the press really hits Dick Cheney for his end running on the Constitition. How is she going to talk against her father and his administration if she has to? I am sure the “Today” show will keep her off the TV if that comes to being.
I am going to be sick !!!
