David Copperfield accused of sexual assault

In another regrettable example of what seems almost a modern-day fashion among performers’ young fans, a 22-year old model is now alleging that master illusionist David Copperfield forced her into sex.

The alleged victim claims she met Copperfield, 52, at one of his shows back in 2007, and was invited to join him on his private island in the Bahamas over that Summer. The lawsuit goes on to claim that, after watching a movie together, David attacked and assaulted her, even threatening to kill her if she didn’t comply.

The suit also proves the alleged victim was so shocked and disturbed by the supposed attack, she let it happen at least two more times before deciding to leave.

Once back on the mainland the accuser told not a soul. For two solid years. Last week she called the Seattle Police, who have now passed the case to an FBI team.

Copperfield’s lawyers, meanwhile, are not mincing words; They told TMZ, “This woman has a history of lying. She has lied to law enforcement before and had innocent people arrested on false accusations.” is their curt explanation. “This lawsuit is extortion, plain and simple. Unfortunately, false claims like this only hurt the women who really have been abused – women who need our help.”
