Robin Wright Penn is solo and happy
As we told you before, the stormy connection between Robin Wright Penn and her husband Sean has been on and off with divorce plans. Well, it seems that Ms. Penn has no plans to soothe troubled waters…
Interviewed for the September issue of More, the 43-year old Texan makes it quite clear that ship has sailed, “I hit that crossroad a while ago. I knew what I didn’t want was flashing neon lights. But I have no regrets – we have two amazing children we raised together.”
But despite a growing work schedule [she's got three movies due out over fall] Robin still has regrets about losing touch with her kids; Her 18-year old daughter, Dylan, is leaving for college, and 16-year-old son Hopper will soon do the same. “At least twice a week, I pull over and sob,” Robin says, her eyes moistening at even the thought. “My baby is leaving. It’s an emotional time. But it’s not sad; I can’t wait for Dylan to go out and live. That’s what makes me cry.”
But as it has been since her breakout role in 1987′s ‘The Princess Bride,’ it’s her career that keeps Robin sane, “There’s clarity of life now,” says the actress. “I think I’ve always been waiting for things to happen. Now I’m like, ‘OK, I know the direction.” And Robin says her marital breakdown has given her confidence, “I f****d myself by not being strong enough before. Then, after 40 you just go, ‘I have the answer!’ There’s not as much questioning of ability.”
With children leaving for college and a husband…elsewhere, Robin is ready for more challenge in life. And Meryl Streep had better watch out! “Everything I wanted to do had already been done by Meryl,” she says with a laugh. “Sophie’s Choice, Kramer, Silkwood…All done!”
Robin’s next movie outing is the romantic drama, “New York, I Love You!” in which she features with Bradley Cooper, Shia LaBeouf, Christina Ricci – and the lady whose dates with her husband allegedly caused their divorce: Natalie Portman.
It opens for previews on October 29.

Update: Robin has just filed for divorce – Again. Filed in Marin County, Calif. on August 12, the legal papers covering what is now their third attempt at ending their 13-year marriage state that ‘both parties have already agreed to shared custody of their son,’… and that she and Sean ‘have already agreed to division of all property.”
The reason for the split is once again listed as, “irreconcilable differences.”

Portman has denied that allegation of being involved with Penn, and has also released a statement. There is also no conclusive proof, yet people continue to believe it.
