LaToya Jackson offered guest-spot on DWTS

As mentioned in our earlier story, the loss of Michael Jackson on June 25 has since been exploited by quite a few people as an irresistible chance to rebuild their career. And his own sister is now joining the team.

Former singer and frequent ‘Playboy’ eye-candy, LaToya Jackson is now in discussions with the ABC suits to join the next season of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ A source close to the show says the network has made a firm offer for the 53-year old singer to join season nine, and LaToya is now deciding if she wants to accept.

“She’s a big fan of the show, and being from a musical family, it would be a good fit,” Us magazine quotes her under-used rep as recently saying.

And that’s very true — LaToya released her first album in 1980, but has not issued a new disk in almost ten years. Her latest album, ‘Startin’ Over’ has been tangled in legal disputes since 2001 and still has no hope of release. ‘DWTS’ would remind the world she’s alive and reboot her career, get that CD released, and would be one of the few gigs LaToya has done fully-clothed in roughly a decade.

Poor girl – that must be a real hard choice.
