Penelope Cruz now proudly pregnant w/ Javier Bardem’s baby

In news that should sadden whole legions of men, it’s now been confirmed that Penelope Cruz is expecting a child.

The 35-year old actress attended the premiere of her new film “Broken Embraces” in Berlin, Germany on Monday, wearing a custom-made gown by Leroux that showed quite a sizable bump, and friends of the actress have confirmed the good news, “Penelope is about four-months pregnant,” a friend told SimplyJared. “She’s really healthy now and will be a great mother.”

But while motherhood is now an inescapable certainty, the same cannot be said for any signs of a  marriage; The Oscar-winning actress has been dating her long-term lover, Javier Bardem, 40, since 2007, but a wedding is just not on the cards, “When I have babies, I want to do it really well.” Penny said in a recent interview in the British press. “I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.”

Always one to try challenging roles, Penny’s next big-screen appearance will be in ‘Nine,’ a musical rendition of Federico Fellini’s 1967 screenplay, in which she plays a flamenco dancer who gets tangled in a turbulent affair with a famous director who is torn between his devotion to her, his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent and even his mom.

The new film opens here just in time for Thanksgiving.
