Russell Crowe now banned from third British pub?
With his new film, Robin Hood, now in the last throes of production it seems Russell Crowe has been relaxing too much; The 45-year old New Zealand native apparently just got banned from a bar.
The Huffington Post is reporting that Russell had a ‘spirited argument’ with the landlord of what the Brit’s call ‘a pub’ in the upscale town of Windlesham in the well-heeled English county of Surrey. “I’m not sure what he’s supposed to have done, but he’s been asked not to return.” said a duty manager at the ‘The Brick-Maker’s’ pub, who asked not to be named.
A fellow guest at the pub told reporters that Russell had offered the bar owner money to be allowed to keep drinking after they closed. But the cash was refused, and that’s when the trouble went down, “Eventually he left,” the source said, “But not before smashing a plate.”
This morning, Russell’s manager, Grant Vandenberg, was in ‘damage control,’ and he claims the whole story is false: “The only truth is that he’s been to the pub,” Vandenberg told reporters. “He’s been there four or five times, with his children — there’s a playground in the back garden.” [Russell has two sons -- Charles, 3, and Tennyson, aged 5.]
But our friend at the bar is not buying that tale, “This is not the only place from which he’s been banned,” they told local scribes. “There are at least two other pubs I know of — so this is isn’t the only place Russell’s been barred.”
