Ben Affleck to direct and co-star in ‘The Town’

As co-writer of 1998′s double Oscar-winning hit, ‘Good Will Hunting,’ and director of’Gone Baby Gone’, Ben Affleck has already proven his prowess in all facets of movie making.

38-year old Ben is now booked to direct and co-star in a new romantic crime-thriller from Warners called, ‘The Town.’ An adaptation of Chuck Hogan’s book, ‘Prince of Thieves,’ which Ben adapted for the screen with the author, the movie concerns a female bank manager [Rebecca Hall, 'Frost/Nixon'] and the hard-bitten criminal [Ben] who tries to steal more than her heart.

But their love-life is hampered by an FBI agent [Jon Hamm, '30 Rock'] who wants to put Ben behind bars.

This will be Hamm’s first movie since scoring two Emmy wins for his ‘Mad Men’ and ’30 Rock’ roles. Meanwhile, the London-born Hall – daughter of theater legend, Sir. Peter Hall – has just wrapped production on a cinematic retelling of the Oscar Wilde classic,  ‘Dorian Gray.’ which will bow in September.

No release date for ‘The Town’ is available yet, but location shooting will start late September in Boston.
