Gerard Butler in secret work-outs for ’300′ shape

Gerard Butler made a lasting impression on millions of moviegoers with the buff physique he put on such scene-stealing display in 300 back in 2006. And now the 39-year old actor is trying to regain that once-stunning shape.

According to friends, the Scottish star — who prefers to be called simply ‘Gerry’ — is now hitting the gym pretty hard in order to shave off some pounds — but don’t tell a soul ’cause he thinks it’s a secret. “He’s so embarrassed his six-pack abs have gone, he works out in a baseball cap and sunglasses,” a spy told Page Six. “You can imagine the ladies’ response when they think they bagged a Spartan warrior, but instead see that gut!”

The now-saggy Spartan has joined Peak Performance, a 10,000 Sq Ft gym in Chelsea to work on his abs. Housed in a sun-dappled loft with a glorious view of Manhattan, the club is so exclusive you have to pass a test to get in.

One more thing that Gerry might need to work on is that his new fellow-members are all so discreet, one of them sold him out to the press.
