Jon Gosselin latest girlfriend Kate Major – a match made in tabloid heaven

It would appear Jon Gosselin is getting quite spoiled — He now has two eager ladies competing to be ‘Kate 2.0′!

Yesterday, girlfriend #1 – 22-year old Hailey Glassman – was gushing to friends about their amazing romance. But now there’s a snag in the form of a 26-year old newshound, who is even called Kate.

The lady in question, ‘Star’ reporter, Kate Major (sorry no pic yet) has now professed an abiding affection for the reality star, just hours after the two first encountered each other at ‘Accademia di Vino,’ a cozy, laid-back eatery on New York’s Upper East Side. “I didn’t mean it to happen; it just did,” the new Katie oozed to the press. “I went to do a story on Jon, and ended up falling for him.”

As for how Jon feels in return, the lad is not saying much — but he whisked his new friend to Southampton for a mini vacation, and the two were often seen holding hands. And local tongues started wagging in overdrive when Lindsay Lohan’s big daddy also showed up with a ‘friend.’

The fame-hungry foursome were seen strolling Jobs Lane and shopping in at T.C. Menswear, before grabbing some lunch at ‘The Driver’s Seat’ diner. “Jon is a friend and needed a place to get away, and my doors were open to him and Kate Major,” Lohan told the News. “They are good friends. Kate’s with him at my house, she’s like a daughter to me.” he explained.

As if that weren’t enough, the quartet were then joined for dinner at ‘The Red Bar’ by ‘Real Housewives’ star Jill Zarin and her husband, and Southampton’s Mayor, Mark Epley, and his wife Marianne. The meal lasted  two hours — and Kate was touching Jon the whole time.

So, is it love, you may ask? “He didn’t seem smitten.” says Jill Zarin. “But they’re definitely dating. It came up in conversation, But this is a girl who is going to want to have babies. Does he really want to date another young girl and have kids?”
