Mischa Barton now on suicide watch after alleged drug binge

As we reported on Thursday, the former “O.C” star, Mischa Barton had summoned Police to her Hollywood home and was then escorted by them to an unknown location. Well, the fall-out so far is not good.

It now seems the 23-year old actress was on the verge of collapse after three-days of snorting cocaine. Friends called the police on Mischa’s behalf, afraid she might do herself harm. The Police then placed Mischa under an involuntary mental-health order called a ’5150,’ which lets them hold someone in custody for 72-hours if they represent a danger to themselves or others.

Due to fly to New York for the premiere of her critically-shredded new movie, ‘Homecoming,’ Mischa was instead admitted to a local psychiatric facility early on Thursday, and is being held there while Doctors run tests. “She’s in very bad shape.” a friend told the Post. “She’s running out of money and can’t find love, so now she’s looking for a good time to escape the misery. She’s a mess. A suicidal, uninsurable mess.”

And this was not Mischa’s first brush with the law. On December 27, 2007 she was arrested for DUI and possession, She got three-years probation. Then two weeks ago, she and a girlfriend were thrown out of an exclusive London nightclub for sexual behavior in the ladies room. And only last Tuesday, she was spied stumbling around by the pool at an LA hotel, looking, ‘bloated and almost unrecognizable.’ according to guests.

Mischa’s PR people released a statement on Friday, confirming she is still in a hospital and in ongoing treatment. A source close to the actress believes this latest incident may signal the end of her time as a star, “When you don’t show up for the premiere of your film, it’s not a good sign of where your career is heading.” was their painful review.
