Murder charges in Michael Jackson case are unlikely – brothers to perform at O2
Detectives investigating the unexpected death of Michael Jackson have found no evidence to suggest he was murdered, though their investigation is far from over, a media report said on Sunday. The investigation into Jackson’s death has focused on his use of prescibed painkillers of a strength usually used for surgical procedures. Speculation has swirled particularly from TMZ, that one of the doctors treating Jackson, who died of cardiac arrest on June 25, could be arrested and possibly charged in connection with the prescription painkillers being taken by the King of Pop. “There’s nothing I have been told that would suggest a murder charge. It’s just so remote and so unsupported by the facts as they’ve been gathered,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to the LA Times because the probe is continuing. Widespread reports about the imminent arrest of one or more of Jackson’s physicians are wrongheaded, he said.
The Los Angeles Times also reported. that the remaining Jackson brothers are negotiating with concert promoters AEG to perform a number of dates at the same venue their late brother Michael was set to stage his comeback in.
According to a Times source, the brothers are in talks to perform at the O2 Arena, where Michael was set to play 50 shows starting this month before his death on June 25. Also the Jamaican music festival Reggae Sumfest announced on Friday that three of the Jackson brothers — Tito, Randy and Marlon — would be present at the event next week, with Marlon Jackson named as a potential attendee.
