Robert Pattinson hates fans and New York
It seems all that brooding intensity he embodies as Edward in ‘Twilight’ may not be an act — Robert Pattinson is currently on-set in New York, and the 23-year old Brit is just pining for home.
“Robert is dying to get home,” says an on-set insider. “He’s so over everything. Girls grab his neck and clothing all the time, and they don’t do that in London. Everyone there is cooler about fame, which is what he’s used to.”
Currently shooting the romantic drama, ‘Remember Me,’ in midtown Manhattan, the young actor’s home-sickness has the crew quite concerned. “He’s skinny and stressed. Everyone is worried about him,” one source told the News.
Most of the problem seems to be all the fans, “He doesn’t understand why everyone is going so crazy over him,” an insider relates. “He’s embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him. He stayed in two hotels in four days to escape, and is being told by security not to encourage them, so he doesn’t even look up anymore.”
He soon had that down — While filming at the Crestwood Train Station in Yonkers, Rob grabbed some treats at Martine’s, a nearby bakery, and got there and back without saying a word. But once back on the set, all Rob could say was how happy he was to be free of the borderline-stalkers in midtown Manhattan.
And he seems to be coping with fame pretty well — in recent days Rob’s been spied on the town, at places like Black and White, the Bowery Hotel, and Webster Hall.
…So if you feel like some screaming, you know where to go.
Rob needs better security guards to keep the fans tearing him to pieces, I dont know how it stands it all.
Actually, I somewhat agree. Yes, he needs better security, but he wouldn’t need BETTER security if his fans weren’t so freakin’ crazy! Yes, I understand that girls like him. Hell, I think he’s adorable. I’ve been there. I HAVE been into celebrities like that, but definitely not quite as earnest as Rob’s fans are. I’m 24 and take pride in the fact that I would never be one of those screaming fans, trying to tackle him at every chance I got if I was in his presence. He deserves respect and girls just need to get a grip on themselves. Otherwise, they’re going to see their precious heartthrob disappear. Be careful, girls! Tread lightly.
I feel so bad for Robert. Being completly gorgeous isn’t a crime so why does he get punished for it by being chased by a stampede of crazy obsessed fans? The headline of that article made him sound bad at first, but after a while i started to get it. It’s not that he hates his fans, he hates the behavior of his fans and he doesn’t hate New York either, he is just home sick and i don’t blame him. London sounds way better than here, for celebs anyways.
Alyssa, you are right about the whole losing Rob thing. If these chicks don’t try to lay off or at least be a little less violent, we are going to lose him. I personally think he is HOTT and i LOVE his acting so i pray to God he doesn’t finally just get really pissed off and walk away. Ladies, just remember, it only takes one person to screw something up for everyone and im possitive you don’t want that person to you. So please, just leave this poor SEXY man be!!
