Carla Gugino speaks on Hollywood age bias
Lovely Carla Gugino known for her roles in Sin City, Watchmen, Spy Kids film trilogy, and as the lead character of the television series Karen Sisco and Threshold, has spoken out albeit with a sense of humor on the age bias, particularly toward women in Hollywood. Carla who turns 38 in late August, tells Moves magazine,
“It is bizarre, certainly in Hollywood, when you hit 23 [and] people start to ask you, ‘How does it feel to get older?’ It is absolutely surreal because, as a woman, when you hit your 30s it’s just the beginning of owning yourself and being in your own body.” She said a friend of hers was told by a dermatologist, “Your face is very expressive — let me know if you want me to do something about that.” Gugino said, “I mean, wait a minute — isn’t an expressive face a good thing?”
Well it certainly is if your an actress. Nicole Kidman comes to mind when you look at how botox leaves an actor without one of their best tools, a face that can express emotion easily.
