Madonna nude photos draw crowds in UK

In a move guaranteed to put a few creases in the material girl, nude photos of Madonna are about to go on display at a gallery in London – just days before Madonna arrives there on tour.
The black-and-white photos, taken in 1979 before she found fame, show a shy, fresh-faced music student, then just 20-years old reclined on a chair in various states of undress. Madonna was paid $30 by New York lensman Martin Schreiber for the work. In 1985, three years after the singer found fame, Schreiber then sold the photos to Playboy, who promptly published them all over the world.
“Basically she was a model. She was hired by Martin, who was teaching photography to students. She was no-one then,” Jamie McCartney, the exhibition’s organizer told the Brit’s ‘Daily Telegraph‘ paper. “So these are probably some of the last photos taken before she was in control of her image.” he explained.
The exhibition has already toured most of Europe, drawing sizable crowds in Paris, Amsterdam, Prague and Madrid, and the show’s bosses expect collectors and fans to eagerly scoop up the reprints, despite prices that start at $5,300.
