Lindsay Lohan throws a party…and nobody shows

With her career in a coma, Lindsay Lohan is getting more desperate to provoke attention.
Sources are saying the former actress and model managed to parlay a deal with the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, raking in $70,000 to celebrate her 23rd birthday around one of their pools. And not content with such un-earned indulgence, Lohan then used the event to try to boost sales of her tacky cosmetics.
But friends say the affair was not so much celebration as a flagrant attempt to pull in some cash. “None of her really close friends would attend,” says an insider. Indeed, the only person of any note whatsoever was reality actress, Brittny Gastineau.” Even ex-’girlfriend’ Sam Ronson was avoiding the scene.
Normally allergic to cameras at such events, Lohan eagerly posed for multiple photos to create much-needed press, and was still apparently whining about claims that she’d stolen some jewelry from her recent Elle shoot.
The actress now plans a less visible party in LA tomorrow – her actual birthday – but her mother and sister are asking the actress to decamp to New Jersey and have the party at home…But where’s the profit in that?
And this is not the first time the fading starlet has tried making a profit off the date she was hatched; Her 21st bash was set to roll at a Las Vegas nightclub, but that all went sour when she crashed into rehab…Again. Last year she created a web-site to lure corporate sponsors who would pay her to party, but none took the bait and the site was closed down.
An MGM rep would not make any comment about this latest debacle, and where her career is now headed is anyone’s guess.
