Farrah Fawcett Is Laid to Rest
 
Farrah Fawcett, has been laid to rest at a private funeral in Los Angeles attended by her close friends and family. The Charlie’s Angels actress, died in her hospital bed last Thursday at the age of 62, with O’Neal at her side after a long battle with anal cancer. Her flower-covered coffin was met by long-time partner Ryan O’Neal at the gates of the aptly named Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown LA.
O’Neal accompanied the casket on its short journey into the church, where he joined mourners who had gathered for the Roman Catholic ceremony on Tuesday afternoon. Alana Stewart and Fawcett’s doctor Lawrence Piro delivered the eulogies in front of 200 guests. Among them was Fawcett’s former Charlie’s Angels co-star Kate Jackson and close friend Alana Stewart, the former wife of singer Rod Stewart. Her son Redmond O’Neal currently serving a conviction for drugs offenses was also able to attend. Ryan and Redmond served as pallbearers and a man in a kilt played “Amazing Grace” on a bagpipe. Redmond also gave a bible reading, according to a program made available to the media.
