Police seize drugs from Jackson’s home as his doctor goes missing

Michael Jackson’s doctor has allegedly vanished after the singer’s family revealed he was given an injection of painkiller shortly before he collapsed and died. Meanwhile police have seized vials of prescription drugs from Jackson’s rented Holmby Hills estate in Los Angeles as part of their ongoing investigation into what caused the King of Pop’s cardiac arrest and death on Thursday. Jackson family lawyer Brian Oxman has confirmed “bags of material” have been taken by cops. He tells Life & Style magazine, “They (police) were looking for drug vials and syringes. I don’t know if they found syringes, but there would have been a lot of drug vials.”
Jackson’s relatives told TMZ, who first broke the news of his death last night, that he was given the pain-killing drug Demerol at his home in Los Angeles where he later suffered a catastrophic heart attack.
A close member of the family said he had been having daily injections of the synthetic drug, which is similar to morphine, and was given a shot by his doctor at 11.30am yesterday. Less than an hour later, at 12.21pm, a 911 call was made from the house in Beverly Hills, raising the alarm and paramedics were told he was ‘not breathing at all’. The doctor’s BMW was towed from outside the singer’s LA home last night and police are looking for him so that they can question him about the singer’s final hours, the website said. The site does not name who the doctor was.
