John Edwards unmasked in lurid new book

Published on June 22, 2009 at 3:28 PM

When the National Enquirer broke the news of John Edwards’ alleged love child last year, the story almost ruined his life. But the storm weakened somewhat when another man stepped up and claimed that the baby was his.

Well, big surprise – That guy’s now selling a book!

Andrew Young — the North Carolina Finance Director for Edwards’ campaign — claims he was paid by a lawyer close to John’s family to let John’s mistress, Rielle Hunter, live with him…And his wife and three kids! Without ever being named on the baby’s birth papers, Young then went public and claimed he was the daddy.

Three days later, the media got wind of their scam. Young was derided and Edwards’ dreams of the White House were ground into dust.

Since then, the clean-cut fake daddy claims he was fired from his job, his reputation’s been shredded and he needs to ‘set the record straight,’ with a tacky new book. A 20-page proposal has been touring the major NYC houses for almost two weeks, but no-one will bite. They’re all said to be too scared to publish in case Elizabeth Edwards finds her cancer’s returned – and that would make them look bad.

His best hope are those masters of scandal, ‘Harper Collins.’ But they were too scarred by the worldwide fiasco in 2006 when they announced they were prepping OJ’s ‘tell-all’ book.

The sad truth is all the big publishing houses are bleeding red ink, so this book will come out. The big question is when — And who has the nerve?
