Seinfeld cast reunite on the curb
Michael Richards achieved worldwide acclaim as ‘Kramer’ in Seinfeld throughout the late 90′s. But in startling proof of how fickle ‘fame’ is, he watched it all disappear when a drunken tirade, focused on hecklers at a Los Angeles club was captured on cellphone and flashed round the world.
Despite several retractions and almost self-flagellation on the Letterman show, the damage was done; Overnight, this master of physical humor and schtick was declared a pariah, and the fame he worked hard for dissolved like a fog.
After three-years in exile, the 59-year old Angelino is now a new man, “He really went through something with that.” says good friend, Larry David. “He used to be very angry and bitter. He’s completely different now. You can see it. I’m very happy for him.”
Despite winning three Emmy’s for his work on the famous show about nothing, Richards is the only cast member who’s never done SNL. His career, however, is once more on the rise as he and the other Seinfeld leads will be recurring guest stars on David’s new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
If you love nothing, tune in and see – the new season bows on September 20th.
