Daniel Craig set to star in 23rd James Bond adventure
Daniel Craig is set to don the tuxedo once more for the 23rd James Bond adventure, targeted to be released in 2011.
Frost/Nixon scribe Peter Morgan, joins veteran writing team behind the last four 007 installments Neal Purvis and Robert Wade for the next installment in the James Bond film franchise. Purvis and Wade collaborated on the most recent Bond pictures “The World is Not Enough,” “Die Another Day,” “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace,” and most recently wrote The Brazilian Job, the forthcoming sequel to 2003′s remake, The Italian Job. Morgan resume includes “The Last King of Scotland” and he scored Oscar nominations for 2006′s The Queen and 2008′s Frost/Nixon, an adaptation of his hit play.
Most believe the last film’s decidedly serious tone was a major downer, so look for Bond 23 to feature more of the light, witty moments that made “Casino Royale” such a success.
As to a clue to the story line, according to The Guardian, a member of Afghanistan’s drug enforcement team has been brought aboard as a consultant, leading many to believe that Bond will next spar with Afghan terrorists or drug lords.
The 41-year-old Craig is next slated to appear on the big screen in Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, due out in December 2011.
