Danny DeVito Acts or ‘Acting Drunk’ on Morning TV Again

Published on June 13, 2009 at 11:35 AM

Earlier this week Danny Devito did a controversial interview on a local Philadelphia morning show this week, promoting his raunchy F/X comedy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

DeVito, along with fellow actors Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, took a break from filming a scene (in which DeVito’s Frank is having a beer) to talk to reporter Jenn Frederick live.

During the interview, Devito acting sloshed, belching and making some lewd comments toward Frederick, which prompted her to ask him if he was drunk.

Devito has somewhat of a track record for doing interviews under the influence. In 2006, Devito appeared on The View after after downing Limoncello with George Clooney in New York City the night before.

In a statement to RadarOnline on Thursday, Danny denied being sloshed on set saying he was trying to make the interview fun. “In the scene the TV people were covering, my character was drinking (pretend beer). When you see the scene on the show—and buy the DVD!—you will understand. It’s called acting.”
