Donald Trump sees the light – replaces Carrie Prejean as Miss California
Apparently keeping Miss California Carrie Prejean didn’t work out so well for The Donald, who has now reversed his original surprising decision.
Trump issued a statement Wednesday saying he sacked Prejean for failing to honor her commitments as Miss California USA.
This was a business decision, based solely on contract violations,” Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, said in the documents. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”
Pageant officials say Tami Farrell, the first runner-up to Prejean in the Miss California USA competition, will take over those responsibilities.
Prejean created controversy during the Trump-owned Miss USA competition, where she was first runner-up, when she answered Perez Hilton’s question about gay marriage by saying marriage should be reserved for men and women. Prejean became embroiled in more controversy when racy pictures of her kept emerging, that many saw as violations of her Miss California contract, not to mention she had a boob job on the pageants dime. Hats off to Shanna Moakler, a co-director of the ‘Miss California’ team who quit when knuckle-head Trump decided not to fire Prejean the first time around.
