Pete Doherty arrested for drug use on flight

Babyshambles lead-singer, Pete Doherty, is at it again.

After battling an addiction to crack and heroin, and swearing he was ‘clean as a whistle’ after a recent spell in rehab, the man who has clearly seen more white powder than Santa was arrested on Friday after the crew on his flight to Geneva found him slumped in a toilet, with a needle nearby.

On route from London, the plane was an hour from landing when Pete entered one of the toilets – And didn’t emerge for about half-an-hour. With only ten minutes left, the crew found him sprawled on the cramped toilet floor, clearly stoned, and escorted him back to his seat.

And that’s when a crew member discovered the needle.

The pilot then radioed ahead for police to be there, and Pete was arrested on sight, “We were contacted by the captain of a British Airways flight and a passenger was controlled by police,” a Geneva police spokesman told the Sunday Mail. “He was charged but I cannot say with what. He paid a fine and was allowed to go.”

The 30-year old former boyfriend of Kate Moss was released, just in time to perform at the Neuchatel Open Air music festival. He returned to London late Saturday night, and has since made no comment about the affair.

Since leaving rehab, Pete has given several interviews in which he proclaimed himself free of all drugs. In one telling line, he’s quoted as saying, “I want to be remembered for my music, not the drugs or who I dated.”

Clearly, the man has some work still to do.
