Heidi Pratt ‘torture’ claims seem untrue

After scary, and clearly self-serving, reports emerged, claiming Heidi and Spencer Pratt were so badly ‘tortured’ on the set of ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ it resulted in Heidi being transferred to hospital on Saturday, those on the set have confirmed that no such mistreatment was ever in play.

The hospital visit was all self-inflicted – and not nearly as dramatic as some made it sound.

Heidi’s sister-in-law, Stephanie Pratt, soon jumped on the chance to condemn NBC. Grabbing a crayon, she gave vent to her scorn, “I’m really saddened to hear NBC felt it was okay to punish them so harshly, and torture them as if they were criminals that Heidi was rushed to the hospital after three days with no food or water,” was found scrawled on her blog late Saturday night.

Those on the set tell a different tale, “Any accusations that Spencer and Heidi were harmed are untrue,” a reliable source tells US. “There was no danger – in fact, they were protected from the elements – Unlike the other contestants. When they came out of the chamber, they were happy and in good spirits.” the insider confirms.

The truth, it would seem, is that the couple spent just 14-hours in the chamber. And the production company have made it clear that food, water and a full medical team were in easy reach the whole time, both for the chamber visit and during the pair’s other brief trips to the set between these witless publicity stunts.

And let’s not forget, the ‘torture’ scene only occurred after the pair walked off the show on Monday, then spent three days in upscale hotels — on NBC’s dime — before begging their cast-mates, on camera, to let them ‘suffer’ some more.

You can witness an unbiased replay of this self-serving debacle tonight, when NBC plays the installment that includes Heidi’s big scene. How she then plans to explain her bald-faced malfeasance, is, for the moment, just anyone’s guess…
