Jennifer Hudson confirmed as expecting!

Well, kids, for once, it looks like a whispered rumor came true — the wonderful Miss Jennifer Hudson is pregnant!

Jenn, a few close girlfriends and her family had a quiet party at a friend’s home in downtown Chicago on Saturday, and pregnancy has since been confirmed as the theme, “It was a baby shower,” Felicia Fields, a singer and longtime friend told reporters. “They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet.”

Propelled to overnight fame after beating over 700 other hopefuls to land her Oscar-winning role as Effie White in ‘Dreamgirls’ in 2006, Jennifer, 27, returned to her native Chicago just for the shower, after fleeing the town last October when her Mother, Brother and Nephew were all murdered there. [Her own brother-in-law has since been charged with the crimes.]

Currently engaged to reality-TV star, David Otunga, she has only just wrapped a hectic nationwide tour with singer, Robin Thicke, despite being in what most friends believe is her second trimester. But when asked by Chicago Tribune reporters whether the gifts at the shower were blue or pink, Felicia was sadly unable to help, “”They don’t know the gender yet. More yellow.” she recalled.
