Daughter of Billy Bob Thornton charged with neglect in death of child

The oldest daughter of actor and singer, Billy Bob Thornton, has been arrested after a one-year old child left in her care last October was found dead the next day as the result of a fall.
Now facing charges of child neglect, Amanda Brumfield, 29, told police the child died after sustaining a head injury, falling from its playpen. Detectives are troubled, however, by the fact that she did not summon help for over two hours.
Billy Bob’s publicist told CNN the Actor is estranged from his daughter, and they have had no contact for ‘quite some time.’ In a written statement, Billy Bob was typically clear on his views, “Anytime a baby’s life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby’s family and loved ones.”
The Ocoee Medical Examiner has ruled the death to be homicide and inquiries are well under way.
Amanda is the oldest of Billy Bob’s four children, and the result of his first marriage to Melissa Gatlin. She was arrested on Friday and is currently free after posting a bond.
