It appears from reports that Lucy Gordon, the upcoming 28-year old actress who was sadly found hanged in her Paris apartment on Wednesday had left two farewell notes before ending her life.

Last seen as ‘Jennifer Dugan’ in ‘Spider Man 3,’ Lucy explained her last wishes in one of the notes, while the other was a consoling farewell to her family. A routine post-mortem has since revealed no other cause of her loss than the suicide which her family are now struggling to bear.

From a modest start as a model while still in school, Lucy rose to international fame as a ‘Cover Girl’ star. Film roles soon beckoned, and 2002′s ‘The Four Feathers’ in which she starred with Heath Ledger cemented that fame and launched her career.

Today – on what should have been her 29th birthday – her father paid tribute and gave us some hint of their loss; “‘The whole family is so proud of Lucy, and we always have been. Her death has come completely out of the blue and the entire family is devastated. She was the light of our lives.”

Lucy was also due to be featured this year at Cannes. What will now, sadly, be her last movie, “Serge Gainsbourg – Heroic Life” is in competition and getting good press. She plays Serge’s wife, Jane Birkin — and even beat their own daughter to the role when both actresses read for the part.

Miss Gordon shared her Paris apartment with her boyfriend, cinematographer, Jerome Alveras. Neighbors report hearing them arguing late Tuesday night, but Police do not regard him as being involved. He has been totally open and helped their inquiries, and provided vital details on life with Miss Gordon in their $3,500-a-month home on the banks of the Seine.

The detectives will now be interviewing Lucy’s friends and her family to discover why a girl with such promise would curtail her life. Her career was blooming, so emotional problems are now the focus of doubts.

These inquiries are expected to last quite some time. As more news comes in, you’ll find it here.
