Carrie Prejean’s mom in alleged gay affair

It looks like Carrie Prejean may have to rethink her position on gay people’s rights — Her own mom’s had a lesbian affair.

Corna, CA native, Valerie Vetrano is openly gay, and has confirmed to reporters that she had a long-term affair with Francine Coppola – Carrie’s mom. “I did date her,” she told ABC News. “But I can’t say anything else.”

Carrie’s parents endured a bitter divorce back in 1996, during which both sides alleged gay encounters. And it looks like her father was right — Val says she and Francine were a long-term affair.

And it ended just before Prejean Jr. stood up on that stage and denounced the whole deal.

Valerie says their relationship was loving and mutual, but the two ladies parted because Francine knew her deeply Christian family would never accept Val as her lover.

According to friends, no-one was told they were dating, and a family friend thinks the truth might have helped, “If Francine had been open with her family, Carrie would have a better understanding of what gay people go through. They just want equal rights.”

Since the story broke yesterday, all three ladies are silent. It remains to be seen how long Carrie lasts…
