Chris Hemsworth to be Marvel Comics Mighty Thor

25-year-old Australian TV star Chris Hemsworth is virtual unknown here in the United States, but all that is about to change very soon. Hemsworth who portrayed James T. Kirk’s father, George Samuel Kirk Sr., in the 2009 Star Trek reboot, has just been cast by Marvel Studios and director Kenneth Branagh in the lead role as the Mighty Thor. Not only will he star in the launch of Marvel’s feature Thor movie but it also pretty much guarantees and appearance in the forthcoming Avengers ensemble super hero movie with Iron Man, Captain America …

Hemsworth is a hot Hollywood property now, recently being signed for A Perfect Getaway, starring alongside Eric Bana he and also just snagged the lead in Red Dawn for United Artists on Thursday. He’s currently filming Joss Whedon’s horror flick Cabin In The Woods for UA.
