Amy Winehouse performs the mother of all bad concerts

Trainwreck, booze hound, drug addled, whatever the description soul singer Amy Winehouse is a complete mess, but folks living in the past keep paying big bucks to see her and generally walk away very disappointed for the experience. Such was the case last night as Wino was performing at a jazz festival in St Lucia, where she has been living for several months. It was supposedly meant to be a thank-you for the Caribbean islanders’ hospitality and Amy prepared by drinking for six hours before hitting the stage. In what is being hailed as perhaps her worst concert ever and that is saying a lot the besotted singer could barely stand as she guzzled drink, forgot her words then burst into tears as the crowd who paid the equivalent of $50 a seat jeered. As News of The World humorously reported Wino in her confusion began shouting at her backing singers for playing songs she’d never heard of – until they reminded her she wrote the tracks herself.
One concert goer reported: “well if you can call it singing, she never sang a song all the way through, or kept up with the music, forgot her lyrics, and at one point just stopped and said she was bored! but in the end she just sat down at the front of the stage and seemed to nod off, at which point she was led off, and the band followed pretty quickly.”
Hmmmmm, I felt compelled to add a piece about Amy Winehouse to my blog. She sure does provide people with a good excuse to write about her, lol.
