‘Jon and Kate’ stars both seeing ‘friends’?

As we reported a few days ago, ‘Jon and Kate plus 8′ star, Jon Gosselin has been caught in a storm of media attention after allegations he was cheating on Kate.

But while Jon has been romantically linked to 23-year old teacher, Deanna Hummel, it seems Kate has also found a new friend. Or possibly two.

Currently on a hectic promotional tour for the couple’s new book, friends say Kate’s been rather friendly with her personal trainer, and is also spending long hours with her new bodyguard, ‘Mr Gray.’

With his wife gone, Jon, 32, became a regular face at some Pennsylvania bars, and was spied leaving one recently with Ms. Hummel close by.

And that’s when the rumors and problems began.

Why would an eight-time Dad be tempted to stray? A well-placed source gave Star reporters the news, “Jon goes out to meet other women because Kate has given him the cold shoulder,” they said.

During an interview on NBC’s ‘Today’ show last week, Kate made no mention of her alleged companions, but she dismissed rumors of Jon’s friend as no cause for concern, “We just need to weather this storm, like all the others we’ve been through.” she said calmly.

Life for most couples with such distance between them almost invariably ends in divorce. Whether Jon and Kate choose that path is yet to be seen, but it looks like we may well find out?
