Clay Aiken dissed by Idol execs
Those in the know are saying the career-challenged Clay Aiken made a surprise trip to the set of American Idol recently – and was soon shown the door!
It seems the Producers gave orders Clay was to be watched like a hawk and not allowed any contact with contestants. Clay was apparently eager to impart his wisdom to Adam Lambert – Clay’s current fave – but Adam was kept at a safe distance until Clay was long gone.
AI’s bosses have a long-standing feud with young Clay – He bailed on his contract with Simon’s ’19 Entertainment,’ and is thought to have persuaded Kelly Clarkson to quit too.
The folks at ’19′ get total control of a star’s life and image, taking charge of all recordings, merchandising, tours, sponsorships and any movie deals an Idol star might attract. They lost a lot of money on Clay, and Kelly’s departure only made the scar worse.
The 30-year old performer, most recently seen in Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’ on Broadway was dropped by RCA Records last year after dismal sales of his recent albums, and sources say his brusque treatment and prompt removal from the AI studios was ordered because those in charge believe he was trying to exploit his links to the show to revive his career.
The suits at AI have made no comment at all regarding Clay’s visit, but if they do make a statement you’ll find it right here.

Not true. He went to the studio and showed of his cutie pie son. Also went to a producer’s recent birthday party, at their invitation. Was on there last year during Spam; don’t believe it for a minute, but then, most of what’s printed in the NE is bullshit anyway.
Clay’s on 30 Rock this week, was in Vegas with David Foster, and not likely to disappear anytime soon.
But it does generate sales of tabs and hits on sites.
