Elizabeth Edwards Tells Oprah All About It

The wife of former presidential candidate John Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, has given a highly personal interview to Oprah Winfrey. It comes though as part of her publicity tour for her new memoirs, “Resilience.”  Elizabeth wrote in her new memoir, “Resilience,” that when she learned about her husband’s affair, she cried and threw up.Elizabeth opened her home to the talk-show queen for a segment that is to be aired on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Thursday. She answers some very intimate questions about her life, home, and her marriage.   One wonders if there was no book to hawk, whether Elizabeth would have been so willing to open up. During the 2008 presidential campaign, she kept up the charade of being happily married and why open up now except to promote a book?

According to a transcript given to People Magazine, she spoke about John’s highly publicized affair.

“This person is very different from me, and really very different from him. We’re basically old-fashioned people. So, this was a pretty big leap for him. Maybe it’s being so different is what was attractive.” 

And the rumors that Rielle Hunter’s baby is actually Elizabeth’s husband’s.

“It doesn’t look like my children, but I don’t have any idea,” she admitted, when asked if she believes the baby could be John’s.

When asked if she was still in love with John, Elizabeth replied, “You know, that’s a complicated question.”
