Jon Goslin’s ‘lady friend’ denies any misbehavior
There was quite a furor in the tabloids last week when reality star Jon Gosselin was rumored to be courting a mistress. Well, it seems we were all misinformed (perhaps) – The lady in question says the rumors are false.
Deanna Hummel, 23, has made it quite clear there’s no romantic connection between her and the reality show daddy. “We’re just friends,” she told People’s reporters. “It’s absurd that anyone would think otherwise.”
The rumors got started on April 18, when Jon was spied outside Legends Bar in Reading, Pa., sharing his shiny new sports car with a [then unknown] woman. This wasn’t the first time he’s been at that bar, and eyewitnesses said he was not wearing his ring.
Jon issued a statement denying wrongdoing, but those who were there tell a different tale. David Reitnauer, a security guard at the club told the Enquirer Jon had been cruising the bar for about the last month, and he and Deanna were alone in stairwell on the night they were seen, and things between them were getting quite hot. “It didn’t look like a friendly kiss. It looked like a romantic one – it lasted about 10 seconds,” he told the scribes.
Deanna says she and the 32-year old star of TLC’s ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8′Â met through a friend a few months ago and have done things together numerous times; But always with people around. “We just talk and socialize, the normal things you do when you see friends,” the lady explains at some length.
Infidelity rumors have dogged Jon for months, but Deanna was eager to deny the idea they are secretly linked. “He’s a very nice guy, but he’s married with eight children,” says the unmarried Ms. Hummel. “He has a great family life and I would never ever think to pursue anything.” And it seems that Jon would agree, “It is certainly hurtful for people to spread lies about us,” he told the press.
There’s an old saying in journalism, “Don’t believe anything until your hear it officially denied. Then you can believe it completely.” And so ends their official denial.
