Dom DeLuise has passed away at age 75
Renowned funny man actor, director and author Dom DeLuise, 75, has died. Dom who put a smile on so many people’s faces, passed away last night at a Los Angeles hospital in his sleep. As we reported last year, rumor was Dom had been stricken with cancer. Deluise launched his TV career back in the 1950s appearing as a bumbling private detective on the Shari Lewis Show along with puppet Lamb Chop. The Brooklyn born comic starred in the Cannonball Run flicks with pal Burt Reynolds, and did a lot of work with Mel Brooks in such films as Silent Movie, Robin Hood:Men in Tights and Blazing Saddles. DeLuise also was a regular on the popular Dean Martin TV show among many credits. Dom was also a renowned gourmet chef and had authored several cook books.
He was the husband of actress Carol Arthur, and both sons Michael and Peter are active director/actors and all three DeLuises appeared in episodes of Stargate and Sea Quest together.
