Brad Pitt and Angelina do battle with bodyguard’s book

In his numerous movies Brad Pitt has handled some pretty challenging villains, but his latest foe’s too real to ignore.

On countless occasions, Brad, 45, and his glorious lady entrusted their personal safety and that of their children to one of their closest assistants, Mickey Brett, who was a part of their team for almost eight years. Now he’s repaying that trust by threatening to write an blunt exposé and tell the whole world all their secrets.

As you might guess, the glamorous couple are not too thrilled about this. In fact, the NY Daily News reports they have hired some of the most proficient and frightening libel attorneys in the UK to ensure Mr. Brett has second thoughts. Mr. Brett has guarded some of Hollywood’s cream, including Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Sylvester Stallone, and a proposal is currently doing the rounds, in which Mr. Brett suggests both book and a TV show starring himself, in which he would recount numerous tales from his years of guarding the stars. But Brad and Angelina are apparently planned as the focus for stories.

The snag with that is, Mr Brett is rather too skillful with stories. Brad’s legal adviser, Marty Singer, describes the muscular minder as “a pathological liar,” whose lies to Immigration got him banned from this country, and whose claims about being an elite British Commando were recently discovered by Brad to also be totally false — He’d done no Military service at all. In a colorful life, Mr Brett has been convicted of eleven various crimes and Brad and Angelina have helped him recover, but this time they feel he’s just gone too far.

In his defense, Mr. Brett has said that most of the quotes attributed to him in the proposal were added or enhanced by the ghost writer brought in to do the intelligent work. The writer, Robin McGibbon denies that entirely. “Mickey was definitely going to do a book or TV deal if the offer was good enough,” says the invisible inkman. “But at this point, there’s no book.”
