Evan Rachel Wood who is recently back on with her ‘true love’ Marilyn Manson is on a roll.  True Blood creator Alan Ball has tapped Evan to play the pivotal role of Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana, sources have confirmed to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello

Sophie-Anne is a 500-year-old vampire from France who is charming, wily, ruthless and wise. She’s a consummate diplomat who has (or had) many of history’s most famous people on speed dial.

It’s a major part, and landing for Evan (whose last significant TV gig was Once and Again) is a major coup.

True Blood is based on the Sookie Stackhouse book series (also known as The Southern Vampire Mysteries) by Charlaine Harris and is produced by HBO in association with Ball’s production company, Your Face Goes Here Entertainment. True Blood details the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional small northern Louisiana town. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a bar, who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). The show premiered on September 7, 2008 and received critical acclaim and won several awards, including one Golden Globe. The show’s second 12-episode season will premiere on June 14, 2009.

A True Blood insider tells Ausiello that Evan is booked for two episodes, both of which will air towards the end of the show’s upcoming second season. But rest assured, if the show is renewed for a third season, Wood will be back.
