Daniel Radcliffe dishes on ‘Deathly’

With his next appearance now due in a matter of weeks, the anticipation for Harry Potter’s final farewell is already approaching a fever. As we mentioned on Friday, the final book, ‘Deathly Hallows’ has so much to tell, the Producers decided to make it two films. But the decision on where to end the first part has apparently been quite a task.
The franchise’s Producer, David Heyman, is quite clear on how the split was decided, “We played around with a couple of places,” he told Empire Online, “and ultimately settled on one that we think is very exciting.” The magical munchkin himself, Daniel Radcliffe, 19, was in clear agreement, adding that the break in the films will occur, “at a very tense cliffhanger”, which, if you know the book, is not exactly an insoluble clue.
David expanded that further, “I think it’s quite bold, in that it’s not necessarily where one might expect. You want to give a sense of completion, on one hand, but a sense that there’s more to come.” And how did they finally pick the right spot? “We tried one and then Steve Kloves (the screenwriter) came up with an idea to try it another way. And when we tried that, it felt right.”
The buzz for this movie is already intense, and as Harry’s farewell it’s essential to leave the fans happy, so the team have taken great care to ensure the ending is right for a wizard who is loved by the world. The second installment of ‘Hallows’ will close with J.K. Rowling’s luscious foretelling of Harry’s subsequent life. The scene is set nineteen years after Harry leaves Hogwarts, and both David and Daniel are determined to get it just right. “I am nervous about that,” Daniel said candidly, “because if it’s good I’ll be really pleased; If not, that would be awful.”
The exact form of the scene is also in flux; David wants to age the actors with CGI, but Daniel wants to stay true to the fans and use makeup. “If it’s a choice between having me, Rupert and Emma looking a bit stupid and it being slightly comical or having other actors play us, I would go for other actors every time.” he told the reporters.
However it’s done, after eight years, seven movies and those magical books, it will be hard for the fans to tell through their tears; You can see Harry again in ‘Half-Blood Prince’ on July 15th, and ‘Hallows’ will bow in November next year.
