Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg ready to fight

After his well-publicized spat on the set of Batman TDK, the most infamous mouth in movies, Christian Bale, is currently tipped to start a new fight with Mark Wahlberg in his next picture, ‘The Fighter.’

The film concerns a little-known boxer called, ‘Irish’ Mickey Ward, who rose from a blue-collar life in suburban Massachusetts to taste the sweet wine of fame as the World Light-heavyweight champion in 2001. According to Variety, Mark will be Mickey Ward, and Christian will play his half-brother and trainer, Dicky Eklund. And Chris has got a real challenge – Dicky was a boxing legend himself before turning to drugs and serving 12-years hard-time in a terrible jail. While there, he beat his habit and turned his life round, then got out on parole and mentored his half-brother to historic success.

The movie was due to star Matt Damon, but Matt dropped out when the start was delayed. Brad Pitt was about to replace him, then the original Director decided to bail and the production’s been stalled ever since. But things are now all set to go, and the pedigree’s looking quite strong — The script is by Scott Silver and Lewis Colick, who  penned Zac Efron’s new movie. And if you’re a fan of Mark Wahlberg, you must go see him in this; He’s been in training through all the delays, so he should now be too buff to believe.

As for Christian, his next role will be as John Conner in ‘Terminator — Salvation.’ If he can keep his temper in check on the set of ‘The Fighter’ he could be in for a very big year.
