Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton Wins Miss USA 2009

Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA 2009 at Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday evening, beating out first runner-up Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, of San Diego, and second runner-up Miss Arizona USA Alicia-Monique Blanco, of Phoenix.

The 21 year old Kristen, an aspiring motivational speaker from Wilmington wins the use of a New York apartment for the coming year, along with a public relations team, a two year scholarship at the New York Film Academy and an undisclosed salary.

Contestants strutted their stuff in swimsuits  and evening gowns while coming with answers to question like ‘what would you do to change the world as Miss USA’. The Donald Trump production was televised on NBC. Dalton will go on to compete for the Miss Universe title in the Bahamas in August.
