Billy Bob Thornton throws CBC Joaquin Phoenix like fit

The talented Mr. Billy Bob Thornton now has a new facet to his performing career — Acting like a jerk!

During an appearance yesterday on the Canadian CBC-Radio show, ‘Studio Q,’ the host, Jian Ghomeshi, casually mentioned Bill’s enviable past as ‘an Oscar-winning Actor, Writer and Director’ at which point Bill, 53, lost any trace of the plot.

The point of the meet was to discuss Billy’s band, ‘The Boxmasters.’ and plug their new album. But when his acting career was briefly mentioned instead Bill closed up like a petulant clam, according to the scribes at TMZ. From that point on his entire involvement was said by insiders to be obtuse and obstructive.

Showing laudable patience, Ghomeshi asked several questions regarding Bill’s past, and each answer was brief and indignant. One softball query regarded Bill’s musical influences in his Arkansas childhood, to which Bill responded with a long, rambling tale about entering a contest in a monster magazine. Finally, after what must have been a nerve-shredding trial for the host, Bill and his band were supposed to play live. Instead, Bill claimed he’d forgotten his drums and walked right out the door!

Bill’s people have since explained to reporters that the ‘star’, best known for his screenplay and acting debut in the 1997 hit, ‘Sling Blade.’ which won him his Oscar,  had chosen “not to engage with the interviewer because of the interview’s direction,” and that “he now takes any reference to his movie career as an insult to his musical work.”

Some so-called stars are known as ungrateful, but this just borders on ill-natured spite.
