Mickey Rourke Gets in the Action for WWE 25 (Video)

After weeks of speculation and intense interest among both media and fans, WrestleMania marked its 25th year last night with a show that was rich in excitement and unexpected events, and certainly well worth the wait.
The highly anticipated “Legends” vs. Jericho match, Chris was on sparkling form and totally shredded the victory plans of Jimmy (Superfly) Snuka, Rowdy Piper, Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair in an unstoppable orgy of well-focused fury.
Jericho then turned to the crowd and spied Hollywood star, Mickey Rourke. (of course) . A challenge was issued, and the actor fulfilling a promise he made a couple of months ago climbed into the ring and sent Chris crashing to the canvas with a single left-hook. The excitement of seeing their Legends dismissed had caused a state of excitement that was simply intense, but at this point the crowd just erupted!
The Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX, was buzzing as 72,700 passionate fans witnessed The Undertaker take on his nemesis, Shawn Michaels. The two have almost incited a riot before in the ring, as they have met many times and Shawn was always the victor. But this time his luck was to change.Once order returned, Triple H took on Randy Orton and applied his special ‘pedigree’ to score another amazing success. The Big Show was next, and his match with John Cena was nothing less than a rout. Cena delivered a slick body-slam and The Big Show was game-over, and done. Rey Mysterio also pinned JBL to close the event, and claimed the IC belt to thunderous applause. The attendance at last night’s spectacular show was greater than Superbowl XLIII in Miami, which is a clear sign of the passion this sport still inspires, “The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania proved that everything is indeed bigger in Texas,” said John Saboor, Senior VP of Special Events told reporters from The Post Chronicle. “The great city of Houston welcomed fans from around the world and helped make the 25th Anniversary our biggest ever.”
Next year’s WrestleMania is planned for the University of Phoenix in Glendale, AZ. Battle is set for March 28, 2010, and ticket information will be available later this year. If last night’s show was a sign, they’d better print one heck of a lot!
